Always follow the instructions given to you by your vet and any accompanying information supplied with this medication.

Each tablet contains 16 mg, 24 mg, 60 mg or 160 mg maropitant as maropitant citrate monohydrate. The tablets also contain Sunset Yellow (E110) as a colourant.

The tablets are pale orange and have a score line on both sides allowing the tablet to be halved. Each tablet is marked with the Pfizer logo on the reverse side. On the obverse side, each half is marked with the letters “MPT” and figures denoting the quantity of maropitant.

Cerenia tablets are indicated for the following:

• For the prevention of vomiting including that induced by chemotherapy.

• For the treatment of vomiting, in conjunction with Cerenia Solution for Injection and in combination with other supportive measures.

• For the prevention of vomiting induced by motion sickness.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc

Vomiting can be associated with serious, severely debilitating conditions and the cause should be investigated.

Administering Cerenia on a completely empty stomach may cause the dog to vomit. A light snack before dosing could help prevent this effect.

The safety of Cerenia has not been established in dogs less than 16 weeks of age and in pregnant or lactating bitches. Use only according to a risk benefit assessment by the responsible veterinary surgeon.

Cerenia should be used in conjunction with other supportive measures if appropriate.

Clinical signs including vomiting on first administration, excess salivation and watery faeces have been observed when the product has been overdosed in excess of 20 mg/kg.

Maropitant is metabolised in the liver and therefore should be used with caution in dogs with liver disease.

Cerenia should be used with caution in animals suffering from or with a predisposition for heart diseases. Cerenia should not be used concomitantly with Ca-channel antagonists as maropitant has affinity to Ca-channels.

Maropitant is highly bound to plasma proteins and may compete with other highly bound drugs.

Cerenia is not a sedative and some motion sick dogs may show nausea-like signs during travel such as salivation and lethargy. These signs are temporary and should resolve when the journey ends.

Incidents of pre-travel vomiting can occur after dosing.

User warnings: Wash hands after use. In case of accidental ingestion seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician

Use For Digestive upsets & Diarrhoea

Diarsanyl is an intestinal protectant to help manage digestive upsets and diarrhoea by reducing intestinal irritation and fluid loss.

Contains a unique component, montmorillonite (smectite clay), which has the capacity to absorb toxins, bacteria, viruses, enzymes and free radicals – 15 times more than kaolin.

This unique paste formula is more effective than pills or powder. Contains Dextrose and Glycerol for energy. Palatable vanilla flavour.

Dosage:
For animals weighing less than 7kg:
Use a 10ml syringe
1ml twice daily for three days (i.e. 1 tab in the morning and 1 tab in the evening)

For animals weighing from 7kg to 18kg:
Use a 24ml syringe
2ml twice daily for three days (i.e. 1 tab in the morning and 1 tab in the evening)

For animals weighing from 18kg to 29kg:
Use a 24ml syringe
4ml twice daily for three days (i.e. 2 tabs in the morning and 2 tabs in the evening)

For animals weighing from 29kg to 60kg:
Use a 60ml syringe
5ml twice daily for three days (i.e. 1 tab in the morning and 1 tab in the evening)

Pro-Kolin+ for Dogs and Cats is a very palatable probiotic formulation containing kaolin and pectin, whose absorbent and soothing properties in the gut have been used for many years in the treatment of diarrhoea. The beneficial microorganisms contained in Pro-Kolin+ occur naturally in the gut of all healthy animals. These microorganisms colonise the immature gut or re-establish the disrupted gut, thus promoting the mechanism of competitive exclusion against potential pathogenic bacteria. This product contains kaolin, a natural binding agent, and pectin which soothes the gut lining during digestive upsets such as diarrhoea. Pro-Kolin+ for Dogs and Cats is formulated to reduce the use of antibiotics in mild gut upsets.

Use:

Cats and puppies: 1-2ml, two-three times a day

Adult dogs: 2-5ml, two-three times a day

Montmorillonite is a naturally occuring tri-lamellar smectite clay powder with superior coverage and absorptive properties to that of traditional Kaolin, which together with plant derived powdered charcoal, acts as protectants coating the inside of intestinal tract and absorbing irritant agents and toxins.

The addition of electrolytes (Sodium chloride& proprionate with Potassium & Magnesium chlorides) partly compensates for electrolyte loss and supports the normal fluid balance during the losses that occur during gut disturbances.

Dextrose and sorbitol provide different immediate energy sources to minimise deficits in dogs that are not eating during digestive tract upsets.

The Probiotic is a lactic acid bacterial culture of live strains Enterococcus faecium at a concentration of 100 x 1,000,000 CFU. organisms per g. in order to recolonise the gut and suppressing growth of potential pathogenic bacteria.

Carob flour and xhantan gum are natural vegetable derived thickening agents providing a mechanical effect so reducing intestinal transit time during alimentary tract upsets.
